Updates in version 6.6.42 released on 02/02/2012

IMPORTANT ! This update changes the minimum Durell screen size from 800x600 to 1024x768, in order for more information to be displayed per screen. Please do not proceed with this update until you have checked your screens are suitable (which 99% should be). Some customers may have already received many of these developments via interim releases, however no-one will have received all the features in this latest update, some of which are crucial.

Loading time: approx 2 minutes

Version numbering: the first two numbers indicate the actual version, while the final one indicates minor revisions, which can largely be ignored. So if you find the update on our website has incremented to 6.6.43 or 6.6.44, etc, it'll probably just incorporate some further improvements.

For All users we've added a revised Complete Policy Register, which allows you to link Word templates to your product types and then easily print a client's entire policy register (via Reports / Client) . We've also added an option to select your own columns in the scrolling lists of Policies, Claims & Renewals (via the Binoculars pop-up in these programs). Finally we've added templates for Journal Entries in the accounts (e.g. for processing VAT) so that it's easier to consistently select the correct debit and credit accounts.

For our Life, Pension & Investment customers we’ve added the ability to get annuity quotes online from Webline and made a number of improvements to the Valuation reports.

For our General Insurance customers we've developed "Add-on" policies (via an "Add-on" button at the bottom right of the Premium screen) whereby standard policies (e.g. for Legal Expenses or Uninsured Loss Recovery) can be added to base policies with a couple of clicks, and then be included in their posting to accounts. Note that a template for each standard add-on policy must be set-up beforehand, via the existing Signpost option for Standard Answers. This update also includes a lot of important fixes for Insurecom-related motor and household policies.

All Users

Minimum screen size increased from 800x600 to 1024x768 to allow more data to be displayed per screen.

The "Complete Policy Register" in "Reports / Client" has been improved and simplified, and is now also available under "Reports / Life" and "Reports / General".

Added user-defined columns via the Binoculars button in the scrolling screens for Policies, Claims & Renewals. If you include the "Comments" column then these can be entered by right-clicking the policies in the scrolling list

The "Setup / Import" program can now load adviser, lead and insurer codes.

Added a template facility for Journal Entries to be more easily repeated in the accounts

Fixed (fairly obscure) problem with the Trial Balance, so it can now cope with commission earnings being entered in the Purchase Ledger.

Corrected problem with the Document Viewer when using the new docx format, where multiple documents based on the same template on the same date are now correctly named.

The printing of the Client Notes has been speeded-up.

Policies and documents should no longer get separated from clients as a result of a client renaming failure, and previously orphaned ones will be re-linked by this update.

Life, Pension & Investments

The Basic Valuation report now includes the original purchase price with an option to show the growth.

Fixed an occasional "Divide by zero" error that sometimes happened during valuations.

Figures for "Structured for growth" accounts, and "Structured for income" ones, are now included in the valuation reports.

Added a facility to clear the "Also in factfind for" and "Also in valuation for" fields.

Added a Signpost button option to copy "Also in factfind for" names to all of a client's other policies.

Added three new fields for each policy's current total regular premium, accrued single premiums, and their applicable date.

The routine to calculate the revised premium resulting from policy variations now includes lump sums.

Added new option on Web-link (a.k.a. Client Facing Services) for on-line Portfolio Analysis (n.b. requires Fin Express Lite, or better)

Added new option on Web-link for clients to upload documents directly into the main Durell database's Document Viewer

Users with a Webline account (free if you take-up 36 items per year) can now get online quotes for annuities

General Insurance

iprism ref nos are now passed to the accounts while the underwriter ref nos are additionally available on the policy and claims screens.

The existing button on the Document Viewer to "Link to Current Policy" now changes to "Link to Current Claim" if activated from one.

Re-broked Insurecom policies now carry-forward the expected start and end dates from the expiring policy.

Implemented a new "Add-on" button on the bottom-right of the Premium screen to add standard policies (e.g. Legal Expenses) to base ones (e.g. Motor). This latest version also copies the invoice date and policy stage to the add-on.

Updated the Insurecom link so it sends co-proposers' full names (i.e. the required new format) instead of just their initials.

MMA Legal Expenses add-ons via Insurecom are now correctly tagged as "add-ons". Note that these do not need to be entered as separate add-on policies in Durell, and they still appear automatically with the base policy.

The system now correctly receives the reduced number of NCD years returned in Insurecom renewals. Previously the correct premium and details would have been included in the renewal's risk, but documentation issued by Durell might have shown the previous policy's NCD years.

Fixed the problem where some MTAs processed via Insurecom were returning an incorrect premium of zero for the adjustment.

Fixed the problem with lapsing Insurecom policies by meeting new requirement to include the original end date.

Fixed the problem with Insurecom renewals by meeting new requirement to remove the Excess Breakdown Result and the Endorsement Result sections.

Fixed the problem with theft claims for Insurecom motor policies and added new options for "Theft of items from vehicle" and "Theft of vehicle".

Now prevent incorrect premiums from Insurecom caused by deleting renewal invitation, then processing an MTA (e.g. for more expensive vehicle or cover), then re-accepting the original renewal.

Fixed the problem where claims sometimes could not be deleted

The full details for advisers and leads are now available to Word from claims.

Special (for SSG)

The "Selection for Postcode Area" pop-up for adding contacts to claims now includes user-selectable fields.

Added "Handling Fee" fields to the screen for non-policy related Claims.
